About Åkerlund Konst
Marie Åkerlund  is an international artist from Sweden with juried and solo exhibitions in both Europe and the United States. She is also a glassdesigner of  Reijmyre Glasbruk in Rejmyre Sweden.
Marie is represented in European Art Museums private collection in Denmark and is an official Member of the French Mondial Art Academia.
She has received several international art awards, as well as the culture scolarship of Finspång,  the community in Sweden where she resides.
 
“Over the years I have found that viewers of my art often recognize themselves in it. They find grief, despair, desire, happiness and hope. Just like life itself. This soulful aspect of my work is the result of the different feelings I aim to convey, and the varied media I am able to employ, including acrylics, watercolors, graphite and colored pencils, in order to achieve my desired result.
I paint photo-realistic paintings, drawings and portraits, and what I call ‘Inspirational paintings.’ I get my inspiration from music, life and the forest. Whatever I am painting, I want it to be full of a true sense of life, so that people can see the soul within”.
 
Marie Åkerlund är bosatt i Lotorp, östergötland där hon jobbar som yrkesverksam konstnär på heltid, medlem i Svenska Konstnärsförbundet, Svenska Konstnärer och BUS. Vill du besöka hennes ateljé så tar hon emot efter överenskommelse.
